Event video means capturing something that happens once, with no second take. That single constraint shapes everything — how many cameras, where they stand, how sound is captured, and how quickly the edit lands while the event is still current.

What we film

  • Conferences and summits — keynotes, panels, and the networking texture that makes an event look well attended.
  • Product and brand launches — the reveal, the reactions, and cutaways that work as standalone social content.
  • Parties and cultural events — energy and atmosphere, where the film is selling the feeling of having been there.
  • Corporate celebrations and awards — presentations, speeches and the room’s response.

Why turnaround matters more than runtime

An event film loses value quickly. A sixty-second cut published the next morning will outperform a beautiful four-minute film delivered three weeks later, because the audience is still thinking about the event and the people who attended are still posting about it.

The practical answer is to plan two deliverables from one shoot: a short social cut turned around fast, and a fuller highlights film that follows. You get immediacy without giving up the considered version. Agreeing this in advance matters, because a same-day cut needs footage reaching the editor during the event rather than at the end of it.

Multi-camera, and why it is not optional

For anything with a stage, one camera is a risk rather than an economy. A second angle covers you when someone walks through the shot, lets the edit cut cleanly between wide and close, and turns a static recording into something watchable. With one camera, every mistake is in the final film because there is nothing to cut away to.

Sound matters more than the second camera

Audio taken from a camera at the back of a room is unusable — you get the room, the air conditioning and the people nearest the lens rather than the speaker. Feeding directly from the venue’s sound desk, with an independent backup recorder, is what separates a professional event film from a phone recording.

For music and performance events the requirement is higher again, because a board feed alone can sound flat and disconnected from the room. Mixing a board feed with ambient microphones is what makes a crowd sound like a crowd.

Planning around a one-off

The work that makes event coverage succeed happens beforehand.

  • A run sheet so nothing important happens while a camera is being repositioned.
  • A venue walk-through to identify difficult light and where cameras can physically stand without blocking guests.
  • The moments that genuinely matter to you — a specific announcement, a particular guest — named in advance so they are covered properly rather than incidentally.
  • Lighting reality. Evening events are frequently darker than the organiser remembers. Knowing this beforehand means bringing the right glass instead of discovering the problem at the door.

What you receive

Typically a highlights film for the website and press, a short vertical cut for social, and clean recordings of any presentation worth publishing in full. Stills can be captured alongside the video on the same day, which is usually cheaper than booking a separate photographer — see our photography work.

Booking

Events are date-locked, so availability is the constraint rather than lead time. Get in touch as soon as the date is confirmed, even if the detail is not settled.
